The Bechdel Study Break

Radcliffe Presentation, March 2024

For a film to pass "The Bechdel Test," it must contain:

1. Two named female characters

2. Who talk to each other

3. About something other than a man...

You'd be surprised how many movies fail!

"The Bechdel Study Break" is an early stage work in progress that's still finding its shape.

The mission: write original scenes from movies that fail the Bechdel Test that would allow the film to pass with flying colors!

From "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" to "Star Wars," "The Social Network" to "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, these scenes seize the imagination, tug at the heartstrings, and empower us all to rebuild classics from the ground up.
